Patrick Warburton to play Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s Series Of Unfortunate Events
According to Deadline, Patrick Warburton has joined the cast of Netflix’s adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events. Warburton will play Lemony Snicket himself, who acts as the narrator of the story. As Deadline notes, Jude Law played Snicket in the 2004 feature film adaptation of the book.
Though he won’t be appearing onscreen with them, Warburton joins Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, and Louis Hynes in this most recent Series Of Unfortunate Events adaptation. Harris is playing the evil Count Olaf, with Hynes and Weissman playing two of the three orphaned children who are placed in his care when their parents are mysteriously killed. The series will be eight episodes long, and at least some of them will be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld—who was an executive producer on the Patrick Warburton-starring Tick TV show in 2001.
A Series Of Unfortunate Events is still pretty early in development, so Netflix hasn’t announced a premiere date yet.
