Patton Oswalt and Rosemarie DeWitt are joining The Newsroom as people—people who believe in things

As we have not yet reached the stage where ideas can become sentient and wear clothes, HBO's The Newsroom continues to hire more people to express those ideas, and deliver Aaron Sorkin's dialogue to an audience that demands it be spoonfed to them by actually being spoken aloud. Now Patton Oswalt and Rosemarie DeWitt will be among those putting themselves out there every day, with the former United States Of Tara couple sort-of reuniting on Showtime's rival network in recurring roles that begin next season. In keeping with the show's ripped-from-the-headlines format, Patton Oswalt will play the Higgs boson particle while Rosemarie Dewitt will play the Arab Spring. Or rather, DeWitt plays a lawyer defending the network in a wrongful termination suit, while Oswalt plays its new Vice President of Human Resources, because America isn't ready for our version of things. Well, let us know when you're ready.
