Patton Oswalt gets offered some heroin in an exclusive clip from his new special
It seems like only yesterday (it was actually a decade ago) when Patton Oswalt recorded his first hour-long stand-up special, Patton Oswalt: No Reason To Complain. (He had previously recorded specials for HBO and Comedy Central, but those were shorter and didn’t have his name in the title.) Now Oswalt’s back with the cheekily titled Talking For Clapping, his follow-up to 2014’s Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time. And The A.V. Club’s got an exclusive clip for you below:
The clip sees an older, ostensibly wiser, very well-dressed Oswalt (nice job matching the shoelaces to the jacket, Patton) reminiscing about his days as an up-and-coming comic living in San Francisco, back when up-and-coming anythings could live in San Francisco. In it, he fondly remembers the time he was approached by a friendly drug dealer looking to sell him some heroin on Haight Street, a gesture Oswalt found flattering. “At the time, I was trying to lose some weight,” Oswalt explains. “I lived on that compliment for months.”
Talking For Clapping premieres on Netflix April 22.
