Patton Oswalt joins cast of A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas

The upcoming Harold And Kumar film that Kal Penn believed was worth abandoning the nation for has just added Patton Oswalt, who will take time out from his recent role as a comedy soup kitchen, charitably dishing out steaming bowls of free funny for any and all struggling comics, for a supporting part in the 3-D sequel A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas. The new film is set some 10 years after Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, with Penn and John Cho reprising their roles as stoners who stumble into doing outlandishly stoner-y things. And while there’s no official word on what role Oswalt will play, Vulture—who has a very thorough rundown of the script, in case you’re interested—speculates that he’ll play Todd Dennison, “a high-strung friend of Harold's whose infant daughter gets accidentally high on second-hand pot smoke (among other things).” Oswalt is currently documenting his on-set experience over on his Twitter feed, including all the Kal Penn-texting-photos-of-nutsacks anecdotes you probably won’t hear during the inevitable press junket.
