Patton Oswalt ready to start dating networks again, developing his own Fox sitcom

Having been unceremoniously ousted from NBC’s proposed Matthew Broderick sitcom Beach Lane—which was then unceremoniously never picked up anyway, then quickly forgotten about during a lavish, well-attended ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria—Patton Oswalt has finally found solace in the arms of Fox, which is now said to be developing a half-hour sitcom as "a showcase for Oswalt's on- and off-camera skills.” Oswalt has teamed with former Mr. Show writer and Comedy Death-Ray host Scott Aukerman for the comedy, which will star Oswalt as a guy whose wife of 20 years leaves him, forcing him to learn to feed and dress himself again, as well as get back out there in the dating world. Not much else is known about the project at this point, so we’re free to speculate that this will essentially be a sitcom form of Takashi Miike’s Audition, with every episode featuring a different part of Oswalt’s body being mutilated or amputated. (Which would still be better than Stacked.)
