Patton Oswalt (most recently interviewed by The A.V. Club here) has joined the cast of a new NBC comedy titled Beach Lane, according to The New York Times. The show, from NewsRadio creator Paul Simms, stars Oswalt as a well-off man who doesn’t know the first thing about running the small town newspaper he just inherited in the fictional Dockhampton, New York. Matthew Broderick plays a seasoned journalist whom Oswalt hires to help keep the presses rolling. Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock From The Sun) co-stars as Oswalt’s stepsister.
