Paul Bettany eludes the FBI in the trailer for Manhunt: Unabomber

Discovery has released the first look at its anthology series that finds Paul Bettany taking on the role of the terrorist Ted Kaczynski in Manhunt: Unabomber. But the trailer, for what it’s worth, doesn’t focus all that much on Bettany’s performance, given that it is largely from the perspectives of the members of the FBI—played by the likes of Sam Worthington and Chris Noth—as they try to suss out the Unabomber before he harms more people. Worthington’s James Fitzgerald, the linguist who ultimately identified Kaczynski through his manifesto, is the protagonist here, explaining: “You figure out the philosophy, you can figure out the man, you can crack the code.” Manhunt: Unabomber premieres August 1.
