Paul Feig suggests he and Jon Hamm have a bright, funny future together

In talking about his upcoming, Kristen Wiig-starring comedy Bridesmaids to the Los Angeles Times' 24 Frames, writer/director and Freaks And Geeks creator Paul Feig suggested that Bridesmaids won't be the last time he Jon Hamm work together. After calling Hamm a "comedy nerd," Feig continued:

He will quote lines from Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy. You’re quoting something even I can’t quote! He’s always wanted to do comedy. One of the next things I’m developing a project for him to star in. I think he’s so funny. He’s like Cary Grant to me.

Well, he's like Cary Grant to all of us, really.

So, of course the vagaries of the development process means such a project may or may not actually happen, but it certainly seems like a good idea. For all the dramatic heavy lifting Hamm does on Mad Men, he's proven himself more than adept when guesting on 30 Rock, hosting SNL, or channeling Lex Luthor for Funny Or Die. The short piece is interesting beyond the Hamm talk too, particularly Feig's thoughts on test screenings, which he strongly supports.
