Paul McCartney cancels shows in Japan due to viral infection

Since releasing New last October, 71-year-old Paul McCartney has been keeping himself by hanging out with robots and touring the world. But that last part has been somewhat waylaid, now that McCartney has canceled all his shows in Japan after coming down with a viral infection. McCartney contracted the virus after arriving in Japan last week, and as the infection has worsened, doctors have advised him to take “complete rest” and cancel his upcoming dates in Tokyo and Osaka. At the moment there’s no word on what will happen with the rest of McCartney’s Asian tour, as his concert in Seoul, South Korea remains slated for May 28. McCartney also has plans to tour the U.S. this summer in support of New—that is, barring any further flare-ups.
