Paul McCartney joins James Corden for a super-sized edition of Carpool Karaoke

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, August 20. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool (CBS, 8 p.m.): If you want to see an extended version of Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool without staying up past your Monday-night bedtime, CBS has you covered. This primetime special boasts additional footage of Late Late Show host James Corden hanging out with Sir Paul McCartney in the latter’s hometown, though as our own Myles McNutt notes in a forthcoming feature, little of that magic occurs within the confines of a Range Rover. But as we reach the dog days of summer proper, we suppose we could do worse than watch these two harmonize while going for a spin.

Regular coverage

Better Call Saul (AMC, 9 p.m.)

Wild card

Sharp Objects / Enchanted / Arrival / really, anything starring Amy Adams except Leap Year: In honor of Amy Adams’ birthday, why not throw an impromptu viewing marathon? In addition to catching up on Sharp Objects, you could check out her three-episode stint on The Office and/or her exquisite performance in Arrival on Hulu. American Hustle and Her are available for digital rental, or you could just log into Netflix and rewatch Sunshine Cleaning (bonus: Emily Blunt).
