Paul Reubens to revive Pee-wee Herman on stage

The Los Angeles Times has the intriguing news that Pee-wee Herman will be make a comeback where he began: In live theater:

The new stage production is a "re-imagined" version of Herman's past theatrical outings, according to promoters.

The new production will feature Pee-wee regulars, including Miss Yvonne, Mailman Mike, Cowboy Curtis and Jambi the Genie. Audiences can also count on appearances by Pee-wee's talking chair, Chairry, and his friend Pterri, the pterodactyl.

Pee-wee creator Paul Reubens has spoken of wanting to make another Pee-wee movie for years, but it looks like Plan B has come to the fore. Frankly, we're happy to have Pee-wee back in any form, though it looks like anyone who shares that sentiment should start planning to buy tickets now. The revived Pee-wee Herman show will be around for a limited engagement run this November 19-29.
