Paul Rudd, Danny McBride add more sausage to Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party

Sausage Party just added a few more sausages to the party. The raunchy animated movie, in which Seth Rogen voices a literal sausage and presumably speaks only in double entendres, will reportedly now feature the distinctive pipes of Paul Rudd, Danny McBride, and Anders Holm (Workaholics). The actors join a previously announced and very sausage-heavy cast list that includes James Franco, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Edward Norton, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, and token non-sausage Kristen Wiig. All will be playing anthropomorphized perishables—a gift to cranky, un-amused critics, who are already composing prospective headlines with the words “spoiled” and “expired” in them.

Rogen and his regular writing partner Evan Goldberg have penned the script, while directing duties are being handled by animation veterans Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2) and Greg Tiernan (making an instant leap from the G-rated fun of Thomas & Friends to whatever R-rated obscenities Sausage Party will boast). Megan Ellison, the coolest millionaire ever, is fronting the bill, possibly to help recoup the losses on Paul Thomas Anderson’s next expensive, brilliant, underperforming epic. Those hungry for the endless buffet of dick jokes Rogen and company will undoubtedly serve will have to hold themselves over with repeat viewings of Neighbors, as Sausage Party doesn’t hit theaters until June 6, 2016.
