PBS to air an hour-long tribute to Robin Williams

PBS will air an hour-long tribute to the late Robin Williams next week. Robin Williams Remembered—A Pioneers Of Television Special will include interviews with several of Williams’ colleagues, including Henry Winkler, Penny Marshall, Whoopi Goldberg, Jerry Stiller, and Mork & Mindy’s Pam Dawber, as well as previously unseen clips from another interview Williams did for Pioneers Of Television this past spring. The show’s executive producer, Steve Boettcher, says the goal of the show is “to share with PBS viewers the Robin that we saw—the very unassuming, caring, genuine, and gentle man who took his acting seriously, but was able to make others laugh.”

Dawber made her first acting appearance in 14 years when she reunited with Williams on The Crazy Ones earlier this year.

Robin Williams Remembered premieres Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. Eastern on PBS.
