Pearl Jam can’t find a better man to jam with than Jack White in Nashville

Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Festival kicks off today, which you can now enjoy from the comfort of your air-conditioned home via our hosting of Red Bull TV’s livestream. (Don’t worry, you can still keep a Port-A-Potty in your backyard for the sake of authenticity.) But that just wasn’t soon enough for Saturday headliners Pearl Jam, who played a surprise show last night in Nashville at Third Man Records. Naturally, the Seattle band ran into label owner and fellow rocker Jack White, who was persuaded to play along.

The set list included tracks off Pearl Jam and Lightning Bolt, as well as deep cut “Let Me Sleep,” which was part of the Lost Dogs compilation album. The caption “direct-to-acetate” suggests that the band’s live performance will be put to vinyl, as does Third Man’s welcoming of the band to the family. Then, in true rockstar fashion, everyone feasted on a pretty fondant cake when the show was over.
