Pete Holmes may get his own, Conan O'Brien-produced talk show

Back in May, Turner chief Steve Koonin reaffirmed TBS's faith in Conan O'Brien despite ratings that consistently lagged behind his competitors by saying, "Conan is our Mount Rushmore." And he didn't mean this in reference to the alabaster, jutting contours of O'Brien's face; he meant that Conan was the network's "centerpiece," as they continued to develop numerous shows under O'Brien's Conaco production company to surround him and shore up their relationship. Now Vulture reports that one of those—a long-rumored late-night talk show to follow Conan—could be hosted by comedian and perennial Podmass favorite Pete Holmes. The You Made It Weird host is set to begin filming a pilot next month, heading up a half-hour show that is described as "a slight departure from the typical talk-show format," though presumably will still feature people talking in a fashion somewhat similar to Holmes' podcast, with Holmes displaying his usual big, bouncing puppy-dog sort of enthusiasm and silliness while getting fellow comics to open up about stuff. Or, it will be 30 minutes of Holmes saying, "Get beers, Pierce."
