Pete Holmes will keep Crashing on HBO for another season

HBO’s Girls is ending soon, but the premium cable network is going to keep that show’s executive producer Judd Apatow around a bit longer by renewing Pete Holmes’ Crashing, which also counts Apatow as an executive producer. The series is based on Holmes’ own life, and it stars the successful comedian as an aspiring comedian who uses the realization that his wife is cheating on him as an incentive to dive headfirst into the New York comedy scene. This comes from Deadline, which says Crashing’s first season has made good use of its lead-in from the final season of Girls, pulling in higher ratings than fellow HBO comedies Insecure and Togetherness—one of which just got a premiere date for its own second season.
