Pete Wentz checks in from Uganda
Remember that video clip of Pete Wentz in which the Fall Out Boy bassist talks about the band's humanitarian trip to Uganda? As MTV reports, Wentz and crew have extended that trip and filmed a video while in the war-torn African nation. The problem, apparently, was how to cast refugees in a video for a song called "I'm Like a Lawyer With the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You)." As Wentz notes in the clip embedded in the MTV article, "We decided this treatment seemed a lot more dangerous and compelling, like, I mean, who, have you ever seen a love story between Ugandan people? Especially with, like, a rock band on TRL or whatever?" To give Fall Out Boy a little credit, the video is being wholeheartedly endorsed by Invisible Children, the charitable organization that sponsored the group's Ugandan jaunt.
Useless factoid learned while "researching" this Newswire post: Pete Wentz was a political science major at DePaul.
