Peter Dinklage is also going to help Christian Bale salvage stuff

Peter Dinklage is a man of many talents, and while those talents may unfortunately include voicing a bird who is indisputably angry, they also include far more promising projects as well. Today the list of Dinklage-enhanced movies swells yet again, as Variety reports that the actor is in talks to join Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike in James Mangold’s adaptation of The Deep Blue Good-by.

As previously reported, this is a potentially large franchise for Bale to take on. The Deep Blue Good-by is the first in a series of 21 books by John D. MacDonald about Travis McGee, a “salvage consultant” who gets hired to recover other people’s property through various—and often legally nebulous—means. Along the way he gets into trouble, fights bad guys, and has tons of freewheeling sex, which means Dinklage should feel right at home on set. Sure, maybe it won’t be quite as juicy a role for Dinklage as his other upcoming role as the “grave-digging alcoholic son of an ex-slave and a street-smart prostitute,” but that’s not certain, since there’s no word yet on who he’ll be playing. Ergo, let’s assume it’s something where he also fights bad guys and has tons of freewheeling sex, unless Peter Dinklage has a real problem with being typecast as a serious badass.
