Peter “Sandy Cohen” Gallagher has joined the cast of Law & Order: SVU. Gallagher and his eyebrows will play Deputy Chief William Dodds, described by Variety as “a charismatic but tough-as-nails boss who oversees all the special victims units in the Big Apple” and who “demands respect and hard work from the commands who answer to him—and is used to getting it.” In other words, get ready to watch Gallagher be a pain in the ass of Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson, who’s now running her own SVU office.
SVU showrunner Warren Leight also told Variety that “like everyone else in our cast, [Gallagher’s] also a great singer,” thus making viewers long, once again, for the musical SVU episode that will never come.
