Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Thursday, December 8. All times are Eastern.

Legends Of Tomorrow (The CW, 8 p.m.): Fresh off the heels of the massive DC CW (DCW?) crossover event, Legends Of Tomorrow reaches its midseason finale tonight. The team travels to 1927 Chicago, where Eobard Thawne, Damien Darhk, and Malcolm Merlyn have joined forces with Al Capone. Plus Wentworth Miller makes his glorious return to the series! Considering gangsters, Chicago, and Wentworth Miller are three of Oliver Sava’s favorite things, he’s in for quite a treat with this episode.
Pitch (Fox, 9 p.m.): While other shows are merely hitting their midseason finales this week, Pitch is officially wrapping up its first season. In the season finale, Ginny pushes herself too hard and might face medical repercussions. Plus Amelia confronts Will about missing money. As always, Lisa Weidenfeld is on hand with the post-episode play-by-play.
Top Chef (Bravo, 10 p.m.): Randall Colburn is keeping up with this year’s Charleston-set season of Top Chef in discussion posts. In tonight’s “Southern Hospitality” themed episode, the chefs are divided into teams and have to create a “South Carolina Lowcountry family feast.” To be honest, we’re not exactly sure what that is. But we did hear through the grapevine that “Lowcountry family feast” was also Randall’s nickname in high school.
Premieres and finales
Supermansion: War On Christmas (Crackle, 3 a.m.): Crackle’s Bryan Cranston-led stop-motion animation superhero series gets in on the holiday action. Santa goes blood crazy and the team must take him down before he destroys the world. Plus Jim Parsons guest stars as “an interstellar imp,” a.k.a. himself.
Con Man (Comic-Con HQ): Alan Tudyk and his famous friends return for a second season of this meta webseries. Tudyk plays a washed-up actor who spends his time on the Comic-Con circuit where he milks his stint on a cult sci-fi TV show. And Nathan Fillion plays his former co-star who has gone on to become much more famous. The nerdy show streams exclusively on the Comic-Con HQ platform, a subscription streaming video service run by San Diego Comic-Con and Lionsgate.
Taraji’s White Hot Holidays (Fox, 10 p.m.): It’s a truth universally acknowledged that when Taraji P. Henson hosts a holiday special, you should watch it. The “music and variety special” features performances by Taye Diggs, Pharrell Williams, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, and TLC. Plus Terry Crews and Tyler Perry are set to stop by, along with several other “surprise guests.” Presumably one of those guests won’t be her Empire co-star Terrence Howard, who cohosted this special with her last year but seems to be nowhere to be found this year.
Supernatural (The CW, 9 p.m.): It’s hard to overstate just how weird Supernatural is. If you need proof, just check out the episode description for the show’s midseason finale: “Lucifer’s search for power and influence in a vessel lands him in the White House where the president unknowingly makes a deal with the devil.” Well okay then.
Alone (History, 9 p.m.): Noel Murray is on record as calling Alone TV’s “most beautiful reality competition.” And the third season premiere is the perfect time to check out the series. Ten adventurers are left alone in the wilderness and must stay out there as long as they can. There’s also a casting special that airs at 8 p.m.
Notorious (ABC, 10 p.m.): In terms of grabbing public attention, Notorious turned out to be, well, not so notorious. But the first season finale takes one last stab at notoriety. Julia is kidnapped by a Mexican drug kingpin who will only release her if she produces an interview that casts him in a favorable light. And for those who had previously only watched the show’s pilot (like your What’s On Tonight correspondent), this finale is definitely a case of “well that escalated quickly.”
Those Who Can’t (TruTV, 10 p.m.): Tonight’s Those Who Can’t double-header includes the show’s second season finale. First up, some Smoot High students pull a senior prank. Then it’s time for “Graduation.”
Streaming pick
A Very Murray Christmas (Netflix): Pit Taraji P. Henson and Bill Murray in a celebrity death match you didn’t know you needed by comparing their two somewhat random holiday specials. After checking out Henson’s hosting gig on Fox, fire up Netflix to revisit Murray’s special from last year. George Clooney, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, and Miley Cyrus are just a few of the celebrities on hand for this strange exploration of what it’s like inside Billy Murray’s head.
