Pixel artists tackle The Simpsons in this great couch gag

The Simpsons has featured some wonderful couch gags by outside talent in the last few years, from Banksy’s memorably grim take and Guillermo del Toro’s fanciful horror to Don Hertzefeldt’s sublime absurdism. This pixel art version of the show’s intro by Paul Robertson (perhaps best known for his work on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game) and Ivan Dixon is unofficial, but paired with Jeremy Dower’s perfect chiptunes rendition of The Simpsons’ theme song, it’s still one of the better couch gags out there. It also suggests that the world may be ready for another Simpsons beat ’em up in this style, now that the original arcade game is considered a nostalgic classic.
