Please Like Me to cease its unending demands for love

Star and creator Josh Thomas has announced that he’s ending his Hulu comedy Please Like Me, after four seasons on the air. A co-production with Australia’s ABC2, the series aired its first three seasons on Pivot before making the jump to the streaming service after that network’s demise.

Back in 2015, we called Please Like Me one of the best shows of the year, praising its warmth in telling the story of Thomas’ autobiographical protagonist Josh, a twentysomething gay guy working his way out of the closet. Thomas announced the series’ end earlier today on Twitter, writing, “This show is so intensely personal, it recreates the most intimate moments of my life and lays them out for anyone to watch. Seeing how people have connected with this show has been tremendously confidence building for me, and I’m really grateful for that.”
