In the wake of a California federal judge's ruling that Proposition 8’s ban on same-sex marriages is unconstitutional, Arrested Development and Better Off Ted star Portia de Rossi has filed a request to have her name legally changed to Portia DeGeneres, officially adopting the last name of wife Ellen DeGeneres. De Rossi changed her name once before when she was 15, from the far less exotic Amanda Lee Rogers to its current, sounds-like-a-nice-glass-of-fortified-wine form. If her request is granted, you may soon have to get used to saying, “Why can’t Portia DeGeneres find a TV show that doesn’t get canceled?” instead.
