Pottermore to release three e-books, in case you needed more Hogwarts info
J.K. Rowling and her cohorts have found yet another vein of the Harry Potter franchise from which to drain blood and put it out for purchase. Today Pottermore announced that it is releasing Pottermore Presents, a trilogy of e-books due out in September. Pottermore explained that the texts will “dig deep into the Harry Potter stories, with tidbits taken from Pottermore’s archives and original writing from J.K. Rowling.” The installments include: Hogwarts: An Incomplete And Unreliable Guide, Short Stories From Hogwarts of Power, Political And Pesky Poltergeists, and Short Stories From Hogwarts Of Heroism, Hardship And Dangerous Hobbies. The second and third volumes—which home in on the wizarding world’s “darker” elements and Hogwarts’ staff, respectively—feature new writing from Rowling.
The Pottermore announcement shortly follows the release of the script for Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, a two-part play running in London, which follows up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione in middle age. In November, Warner Bros. will release Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, a Potter prequel which takes place in 1920s New York. At that point, you may very well think there can’t possibly be more—but there’s already a sequel to that film in the works.
