President Obama to hitch a ride in the season premiere of Comedians In Cars

Perhaps anxious to showcase the host’s witty repartee with Will Ferrell, Crackle has moved up the premiere date for season seven of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld (which should be its subtitle). That’s according to The Wrap, which also notes that President Barack Obama will join Seinfeld for a ride in a car to get coffee in the season premiere. Come to think of it, the President’s appearance might also have had a little something to do with the rescheduling, what with the conversation being the equivalent of a “moonwalk” (as in, a walk on the moon, and not just a dance move) for Seinfeld.

In any case, Crackle has announced that season seven will premiere on December 30 at 11:30 p.m. ET, a full week ahead of schedule. The episode features Seinfeld and President Obama taking a 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe for a drive, which probably leads to conversation over coffee. Of his presidential interview, Seinfeld said “the President’s humor and generosity are the only reasons this was even possible. He was so easy and fun to be with.” Obama doesn’t appear onscreen in the season seven trailer, which is posted below, but we do get to see Ferrell, Kathleen Madigan, Garry Shandling, Steve Martin, and Sebastian Maniscalco needling Seinfeld over the premise and equipment of the show.
