Prince wrote a song for the people of Baltimore

Because he can’t purify an entire city in the waters of Lake Minnetonka, Prince has reportedly recorded a song in support of the people of Baltimore. A Prince spokesperson quoted in USA Today says that the new song “addresses the unrest in Baltimore and the socio/political issues around the country in the wake of a slew of killings of young black men.” This isn’t the first time that Prince has spoken out about police brutality in recent months: he quoted the “Black Lives Matter” protest slogan while presenting at the Grammys earlier this year. A title and release date for the track—which was recorded last week at Prince’s Paisley Park studios—have yet to be set, but the artwork for the single is below.
