Pro-wrestling legend Kevin Nash is starring in food-themed Saw parody Slaw
Last year, it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was the world’s highest paid actor, definitively proving that there is absolutely a place in Hollywood for the charismatic pro wrestler. He’s not alone, either, now that John Cena’s roles in Trainwreck and Sisters have turned him into a comedy commodity.
Of course, not everyone is able to transcend playing a CGI man-scorpion. Most wrestlers are still toiling away in bizarre, straight-to-VOD fare, whether it’s Seth Rollins popping up in Sharknado 4 or Dean Ambrose starring in the second sequel to a movie nobody saw. Take Kevin Nash, one-time WWE champion and founding member of the nWo. Though he’s made appearances in a number of fine films, including Magic Mike XXL and The Punisher, he’s not above starring in a food-themed Saw parody alongside fellow pro wrestlers/Bullet Club members Luke Gallows, Amber Gallows, and John Kip.
It’s called Slaw, and the synopsis describes it as being about a pair of “foodie” brothers who will murder anyone who ruins their dining experience in a “unique ‘food-related’ manner.” It better not be a corn-on-the-cob to the back. Sleepwalkers already did that.
Though it premiered last October in Duluth, GA, producer Joshua Carpenter says he plans to release it to coincide with Saw: Legacy, the eighth film in the franchise, which is currently slotted for October 27, 2017. Somebody better get jackknifed onto a bunch of kabob skewers, or what’s the point?
