Prophets Of Rage announce debut EP, The Party’s Over
When the remaining members of Rage Against The Machine announced this past May that they would be forming a supergroup called Prophets Of Rage with Public Enemy’s Chuck D, it was such exciting news that it barely registered that Cypress Hill’s B-Real was also involved with the group. When they shortly thereafter announced an impending U.S. tour (which will begin later this week), it made many an aging music fan seriously consider if they would be willing to brave the possibility of a mosh pit forming in their general vicinity.
Now, we’re getting news that the Prophets’ debut EP The Party’s Over will be released on August 25, and it’s almost too much good news to handle. The short collection includes two brand new studio tracks, “The Party’s Over,” plus a version of Public Enemy’s “Prophets Of Rage” (from which the band draws its name). On top of that, we’ll get three live covers: one from PE’s discography, one from RATM’s, none from Cypress Hill’s, and an RNC-inspired reimagining of the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.”
