“Psych!” the herald angels sing
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Thursday, December 7. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Psych: The Movie (USA, 8 p.m.): America’s favorite fake-psychic private investigators are back in business, in this feature-length follow-up to the long-running USA comedy. James Roday and Dulé Hill return to the roles of Shawn Spencer and Burton “Gus” Guster, now practicing their craft in San Francisco, where Shawn opens his phony third eye in order to solve a Christmastime mystery involving a David Bowie-inspired adversary played by Zachary Levi. Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson, and Corbin Bernsen are back, too, in what our own Danette Chavez is hoping will be the start of a new holiday tradition.
Regular coverage
Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.)
Arrow (The CW, 9p.m.)
The Orville (Fox, 9 p.m.)
Wild card
The Great American Baking Show (ABC, 9 p.m.): We regret to inform you that Mary Berry’s exit from The Great British Bake Off also applies to the competition’s American cousin, thus denying What’s On Tonight the opportunity to wish you and yours a very Merry Mary Berry Christmas. You’ll just have to settle for a holly, jolly Paul Hollywood.
