Public Image Ltd. has a new album and tour in the works
After a long hiatus, Public Image Ltd.—the post-punk group frontman John Lydon formed after the Sex Pistols broke up—returned in 2012 with their first new album in nearly 20 years, This Is PiL. Now Pitchfork reports that the band’s sticking around for another album and a tour. The album, What The World Needs Now…, is due out September 4; The tour begins later that month in the U.K.; no North American dates have been announced yet, but the band’s website implies that Lydon and company plan to cross the Atlantic at some point soon.
