Q-Tip soul album is a go!

Hey, remember Kamaal The Abstract, the aborted neo-soul album Q-Tip was supposed to release in 2002? (Check your memory–it's filed under "Bad Ideas Of The New Millennium.") Well, in an interview with Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune, the co-leader of A Tribe Called Quest says the album will finally see the light of day next year. Take it with a few grains of salt, though, as we're all still waiting for that long-gestating comeback album from Quest, too.

While you're waiting, check out Tip's new one, The Renaissance, which Kot and his Sound Opinions co-host, Jim DeRogatis, gave a big, wet kiss to on a recent episode. Our own Nathan Rabin was more restrained, but it's a good record nevertheless.
