Because we could all use a little levity and beauty right now, here’s the Girls Trip trailer, which offers the mini-Set It Off reunion of our dreams. Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith are joined in this bawdy rom-com by Regina Hall and The Carmichael Show’s Tiffany Haddish. They make up a quartet of lifelong pals whose friendship nonetheless needs rekindling (adulthood will do that to you). So they go to New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival, where they encounter Luke Cage himself, Mike Colter. Larenz Tate and Queen Sugar’s Kofi Siriboe round out the cast as vacation hotties who are bound to tempt the Queen & Co. This year’s Rock That Body promises similarly star-studded shenanigans, but we’re still a few movies short of a female-led vacation comedies trend.
