Most rock stars are content to pick up the occasional honorary degree from a big-name school looking for a famous name to reference Oh The Places You'll Go! during the commencement ceremony. But Queen's Brian May brings some real academic credentials to the table, with a doctorate in astrophysics awarded earlier this year. Now May has been named freakin' chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University. His duties will include presiding over graduation ceremonies and representing the university on special occasions. The musician became an honorary fellow of the university earlier this year for his contribution to the arts and encouraging public understanding of science.
