Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness to publish an Over The Top memoir this fall
As the (revamped) song goes, things keep getting better: In addition to a new season of Queer Eye, we can now look forward to a memoir from grooming expert and Emmy winner Jonathan Van Ness this year. This delightful news comes from Entertainment Weekly, which exclusively announced the September 2019 arrival of Van Ness’ Over The Top. In a statement, Van Ness’ publisher, HarperOne, teased “never-before-told secrets” from the Queer Eye host with the most facial hair, who will “[reveal] sides of himself that the public has never seen. JVN fans may think they know the man behind the stiletto heels, the crop tops, and the iconic sayings, but there’s much more to him than meets the Queer Eye.” Absolutely, like his Emmy-nominated work on Gay Of Thrones, and his utterly charming new podcast, Getting Curious With Jonathan Van Ness.
Van Ness joins his Queer Eye collaborator Karamo Brown, culture expert and bomber jacket aficionado, in the publishing business—Brown’s memoir Karamo: My Story Of Embracing Purpose, Healing And Hope is due out March 5. If this trend continues, we can expect to see Antoni’s cookbook that’s 75 percent pictures from his Instagram—a move we fully endorse—in time for Christmas.
