Quentin Tarantino’s New Beverly lineup, The Hateful Eight filming dates revealed

After announcing last month that he would be taking over as head programmer at the New Beverly Cinema—temporarily, anyway—Quentin Tarantino has revealed the first round of films hand-picked from his personal collection that will screen at the theater.

The full October calendar isn’t available on the New Beverly’s website just yet, but Variety has seen a selection and, as promised, the lineup consists entirely of 35mm prints. On October 1 and 2, the New Beverly will screen a Paul Mazursky double feature consisting of Blume In Love and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, followed by a week of Pulp Fiction and Luc Besson’s The Professional. Dates and titles are still coming together for the rest of the month, but a Robin Williams double feature, nights devoted to Bruce Lee, Sam Peckinpah and George C. Scott, and an Eli Roth-hosted Halloween horror marathon are all reportedly in the works.

The New Beverly has been closed for the past month as crews installed a 16mm projector and new sound system. Tarantino says he’ll continue to program films at the theater, which he purchased in 2007, for three months before turning it over to staff and guest programmers. That timeline dovetails nicely with The Denver Post’s assertion that all the proper permits are in place to start filming The Hateful Eight in Colorado this December. According to that report, principal photography on the film will begin on December 8 at the Schmid Ranch, located 10 miles west of Telluride.
