R.I.P. Farrah Fawcett
Farrah Fawcett, a model and actress best-known for her iconic posters and her star-making presence in the kitschy '70s TV series Charlie's Angels, died this morning in Santa Monica at the age of 62, after a long battle with cancer. Fawcett had a tumultuous career in show-business, marked by loopy public appearances and intermittently successful attempts to shed her "blonde bimbo" image. But while Fawcett did fine work in movies like Extremities and The Burning Bed, in her later life she expressed a justifiable pride the role that made her famous, as the athletic, happy-go-lucky Jill Munroe. Fawcett bewitched a generation, and will be missed.
