R.I.P. Lisa Robin Kelly of That '70s Show
Lisa Robin Kelly, the actress who played Eric Forman’s sister Laurie on That ‘70s Show, has died. She was 43.
Prior to playing the big-haired Laurie, Kelly appeared on a number of other TV shows, from The Net small-screen adaptation to Days Of Our Lives and Married… With Children. She also acted in movies like Jawbreaker and Amityville: Dollhouse. Her five-year stint as Laurie was her longest gig—even after her character was written off the show following the third season (though she was invited back for a couple of episodes in the fifth and sixth seasons). Due to a self-admitted drinking problem, Kelly was eventually asked to leave the show, and actress Christina Moore replaced her in the role.
Kelly had been in and out of legal trouble ever since, being arrested at least four times in the past three years for DUIs and domestic disturbances involving her now-estranged husband, incidents that ended in assault charges for them both (and in her husband's case, 35 days in jail). Last week she checked herself into a California rehab facility seeking treatment for her alcohol abuse. It was there that she went into cardiac arrest and could not be revived.
