The R. Kelly cruise has been cancelled, as it will now not feature any R. Kelly. The singer has dropped out of his Love Letter Cruise, saying he was never paid for the gig. Kelly was hired by Concerts Cruise LLC to perform two shows on the five-day voyage from Miami to the Caribbean, but so far, the company hasn’t forked over the cash. A rep for the singer says he’d been looking forward to the trip and was “ready, willing and able to perform for fans” and that, in lieu of the high-seas adventure, he will be announcing a U.S. tour on dry land very soon.
Tickets for the cruise cost anywhere from $999 to $2,999; all holders will be issued refunds at point of purchase.
