Radiohead wants you to make the final video vignette for A Moon Shaped Pool

Radiohead’s recent series of vignettes—short video clips designed to promote the band’s latest album, A Moon Shaped Pool—have drawn in a lot of big name talent. High-Rise director Ben Wheatley has contributed a clip, for instance, as has Yorgos Lanthimos of The Lobster and Dogtooth fame. Now the band is giving its fans a chance to pair its moody music to their own moody visuals (or shots of puppies playing, if that’s your jam), announcing a contest to crowdsource the final video in the series.

The band has posted a minute-long string version of the album’s “Daydreaming”—one of the few songs on Pool to get the more traditional music video treatment, featuring our old pal, Ramblin’ Man Thom Yorke—for fans to visualize. You can download the clip—which has to be used, unremixed or edited, for the video to be considered for the contest—here. (People have also posted the audio on Soundcloud, if you just want to hear what the alternate intro sounds like without having to download it.) The winner will have their video posted on the band’s web site, and the warm feeling of pride at knowing they made Thom Yorke crack a dour smile for half a fraction of a tiny fragment of a second.
