Radiohead's new album at "the finishing line," due this year
In an interview with BBC 6 Music’s Adam Buxton, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien confirmed that the band is at “the finishing line” on its newest album, with an eye on release sometime this year. At Ease has a partial transcript of the interview (full audio here), during which O’Brien boldly proclaimed the new Radiohead album to be “the best record we’ve ever made,” as well as “very different from what we did last time,” while also saying that “it has got to” come out sometime in 2010—possibly within “a matter of weeks.” Not much else is known about what Radiohead’s been working on, although O’Brien’s present-tense praise for producer Nigel Godrich would seem to confirm that he’s once again been helping the band in the studio.
