Raise your oversized wine goblets one final time for Scandal

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Thursday, April 19. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Scandal (ABC, 10 p.m.): Seven seasons, 124 episodes, hundreds of impeccable outfits, numerous bottles of merlot, and countless uses of the “It’s handled” GIF later, Scandal is leaving the gladiator arena for good. This soapy-yet-political drama has served as the cornerstone of Shonda Rhimes’ creative empire, snatching the “must-see TV” mantle away from NBC and establishing TGIT for ABC. Scandal’s had its ups and downs, but its legacy cannot be denied. Rhimes blazed new paths for inclusive and compelling storytelling, and along with Emmy nominee Kerry Washington, gave us a singular protagonist. Ashley Ray-Harris has a bespoke outfit and review ready for the finale.

Regular coverage

Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.)
RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1, 8 p.m.)
Arrow (The CW, 9 p.m.)
Scandal (ABC, 10 p.m.)
Atlanta (FX, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

Superstore (NBC, 8 p.m.): At this point, Superstore is much more hit than miss, so this isn’t so much a wild-card pick as it is a nudge to tune in for the gender-reveal party of Glenn (Mark McKinney) and Jerusha’s (Kerri Kenney) baby.
