Raising Hope has also lost its showrunner

Only a day after the announcement that Fox’s Raising Hope has been picked up for a fourth season, today comes word that creator Greg Garcia has stepped down as showrunner, ceding guardianship of his own hapless baby to longtime executive producer and writer Mike Mariano, and similarly hoping that no one from their goofy family accidentally kills it. The split is apparently an amicable one, brought about because Garcia is leaving to concentrate on his two new pilots at CBS—the Rupert Grint-starring Super Clyde, and the series that Will Arnett fever-dreams about as he slowly suffocates under Up All Night—at least one of which is actually expected to make it to air next fall. But of course, it’s also the departure of a showrunner, so begin prepping your arguments for why next season just feels slightly “off.”
