Rapper Chief Keef jailed for holding a gun in a Pitchfork video
Chief Keef has been sent back to jail after violating his parole. The 17-year-old rapper landed on the wrong side of the law after he was filmed holding a rifle at a gun range during a video shoot for Pitchfork.tv. A clip of the offending action made it to the site, where it soon caught the attention of the state’s attorney’s office before being taken down.
Keef had been placed on 18-month probation after pointing a gun at a Chicago police officer in 2011. Chicago police have also been looking into whether he and his crew played a role in the murder of aspiring rapper Lil Jojo last fall. Stoking their suspicion, Keef sent a nasty tweet about the victim just after the crime, though he later claimed his account had been hacked.
Keef's debut record, Finally Rich, was released in December.
