Perhaps the greatest director-actor team since Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski, Rush Hour BFFs Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker announced today that they will come together yet again for an adaptation of Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra, the "dishy tell-all" written by Sinatra's valet, George Jacobs. Tucker is eyeing the role of Jacobs, whom Variety refers to as a "Zelig-like figure" who witnessed all manner of backstage dirt involving celebrities ranging from Marilyn Monroe to Humphrey Bogart to Elvis Presley. Ratner, by the way, is apparently a "Rat Pack obsessive" about whom Sinatra co-author and screenwriter William Stadiem says, "I think he's channeling Frank sometimes." So wait, is Ratner more like Sinatra or is he Hugh Hefner? I've lost track of how low our standards are now.
