Read This: How to cheat at Pokémon Go

The best thing about Pokémon Go is that you get to go out into the real world to play it. The worst thing about Pokémon Go is that you have to go out into the real world to play it. While it’s fun to discover a whole bunch of new water Pokémon near a lake or stumble across a triumvirate of lured PokéStops, sometimes you just want to catch a Clefairy in the comfort of your own home. Thankfully, The Daily Dot has you covered with a clever way to catch Pokémon from home by tricking the game into thinking you’re in a new location.

It’s a slightly involved process and, unfortunately, the instructions are only applicable to Android users. It involves locating rare Pokémon on the PokéVision website, copying down their GPS locations, and using a fake location app to “move” your house to that location. Niantic has already wised up to a similar trick involving the Mock Locations tool in the Android developer option menu. Using a fake location app is a workaround for that, but it’s possible Niantic will soon find a way to prevent this cheat as well. That means you should be sure to catch those European Mr. Mimes and Asian Farfetch’d while you can.
