Choosing the right filter for an Instagram post is one of those things that a lot of us spend way too much time doing in 2015. But now you can obsess over filter choice even more, as Chad Major from Noisey presents an analysis of pop stars’ filter use. Major looks at the most recent 250 posts of the top 15 most-followed musicians on Instagram to see what pop culture tastemakers have to say about which filter to slap on those brunch photos.
Interestingly, the most common filter is no filter at all. Major had to work his way far down the list of popular Instagram users to find anyone who doesn’t post #NoFilter pics at a higher rate than filtered photos (Miranda Kerr and Paris Hilton, it turns out, are filter fiends with a particular affinity for Valencia).
