Refused members form AC4
Singer Dennis Lyxzén and bassist David Sandström–formerly of Sweden's Refused, one of the most innovative and influential bands of the '90 (i.e., Refused's 1998 masterpiece, The Shape Of Punk To Come, is the hardcore equivalent of OK Computer)–have reunited. Their new band, dubbed AC4, hasn't announced a release yet, but there's a live clip up on the group's MySpace.
After Lyxzén's so-so experiment with garage rock as the leader of The (International) Noise Conspiracy–an outfit that never quite took off like contemporaries The Hives, although I shouldn't be talking about them in the past tense, as I guess they're still around–AC4 is clearly a hardcore band: old-school, stripped-down, and apparently minus the radical sonic tinkering and texturing of Refused.
