Reggie Watts shows team spirit
Even people who are fans of Reggie Watts aren’t exactly sure what to expect when they buy tickets to see him. The unpredictable performer inhabits a unique space in the comedy world that comprises stand-up and music, but doesn’t wholly fit in either world. That can be a lot to process, especially for people who aren’t necessarily comedy fans—like, say, people waiting for a band to play. As he recounts in this week’s Stand Down, he’s not above baiting a hostile crowd.
Watts recorded this episode right after his appropriately surprising Undercover session—an awesome reinterpretation of Van Halen’s “Panama”—so people who have watched the other two episodes of Stand Down will notice a difference in the audio quality.
Next week: Jimmy Pardo visits a naval base.
