While writers are busy not making new-movie news, Hollywood Reporter lets us know about a couple of remakes on the way. Jennifer Connelly joins Keanu Reeves in a new version of The Day The Earth Stood Still, in which aliens command humans to live in peace lest they endanger other planets. Execs are surely hoping an ornery striker or two will rent the original this week and learn a valuable lesson. Just the opposite of what they'd get from the badassery of High Noon, a classic western also due for a new incarnation.
