Reminder: The A.V. Club has a book out next week. Also: There will be readings. And a party.
Okay, we promise to stop flogging our awesome, soon-to-be-released book Inventory: 16 Films Featuring Manic Pixie Dream Girls, 10 Great Songs Nearly Ruined By Saxophone, And 100 More Obsessively Specific Pop-Culture Lists at some point… but not yet. A few relevant facts:
1) It hits bookstores next Tuesday, October 13.
3) It’s 256 pages long
4) It weights 1.2 pounds
5) The Office’s Mindy Kaling says: “I'm going to put this awesome book on my coffee table so when people come over they'll think I'm fun, clever, and sophisticated, but charmingly populist. And when they see my name on the back cover, they'll also think I'm famous!”
But wait! There’s more. The A.V. Club will soon be making some appearances at a bookstore near you (assuming you live in Illinois or Wisconsin) and throwing a tremendous party that you can attend (assuming you can get to Chicago next Tuesday). Want to know more? Here you go:
Tuesday, October 13: Chicago
Borders
2817 North Clark Street
7:00 p.m.
To be followed by a party at Crossroads Public House at 2630 N. Clark Street that will include free beer from Chicago’s own Goose Island, with a special emphasis on Goose Island Harvest Ale. It’s free and everyone 21 and up is invited. You might want to RSVP via e-mail though. (Write to [email protected] with the subject line "Inventory.")
Thursday, October 15: Madison
Borders
3750 University Ave.
7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, October 20: Milwaukee
Boswell Book Company
2559 N. Downer Ave.
7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 28: Chicago
The Book Cellar
4736-38 N. Lincoln Ave.
7:00 p.m.
And that’s the end of the line for us for now, at which point we plan to retreat to our mansions and role around in fat residual money. (Note: Rolling around in money plans may be premature.)
